EDUCATE AFRICA INSTITUTE (EAI) READY TO LEAD LEGAL ACTION AGAINST WAEC OVER CANCELLATION AND WITHHOLDING OF BECE RESULTS – William Boadi

The Educate Africa Institute (EAI) has taken notice of the West African Examinations Council’s (WAEC) press release dated Friday, 15th August, 2025, regarding the release of provisional results for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School Candidates.

Key Demands:

1. Immediately release all withheld and cancelled results of candidates as stated in the provisional results report of 15th August, 2025.
2. Stop sacrificing candidates’ futures because of weaknesses in its own systems of supervision and monitoring.
3. Take full responsibility by sanctioning the invigilators, supervisors, and examination officials who failed in their duties.
4. Remark all the examination papers of the affected candidates to ensure fairness and transparency.
5. Provide the public with full and detailed reports on all examination malpractice investigations from inception to date, to demonstrate accountability.

EAI’s Position:

-WAEC’s continuous cancellation and withholding of results is a gross injustice and cannot be tolerated any longer.
– If WAEC cannot guarantee credible examinations, then it must be abolished and replaced with a more competent and transparent examination body.
– EAI stands ready to defend the rights of candidates and will not hesitate to join hands with affected families to pursue legal remedies.
