Kintampo North MP Praises Government Ahead of Mid-Year Budget Review
Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah, Member of Parliament for Kintampo North, has commended the government for its economic management ahead of the Mid-Year Budget Review, highlighting the positive impact on Ghana’s economy within the past six months.
In an early morning interaction with TV XYZ, Hon. Kumah noted that the government has successfully cleared arrears on the Capitation Grant, an essential intervention that supports free basic education in the country. He praised Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister for Finance, for his commitment and the significant gains made in stabilizing the economy since assuming office.
“The Finance Minister has done remarkably well in just six months, and the results are clear. The economy is being boosted, and Ghanaians are seeing the difference,” Hon. Kumah stated.
He further indicated that the upcoming Mid-Year Budget Review will bring hope to Ghanaians, especially traders, exporters, and shoppers, as the Ghanaian cedi continues to gain strength against major currencies. This, he explained, is contributing to a reduction in the prices of goods and services across markets in the country.
“As the cedi gains strength, it is boosting marketing activities across the country, and we expect prices of goods and services to continue to reduce. This will give relief to our traders and exporters while ensuring that the ordinary Ghanaian benefits from the government’s prudent economic management,” he added.
The Mid-Year Budget Review, expected to be presented to Parliament soon, will outline the government’s fiscal strategy for the remainder of the year, focusing on economic stability, job creation, and continued support for social intervention programmes.
Hon. Kumah encouraged Ghanaians to remain optimistic as the government works to build a resilient economy that serves the interests of all citizens. Watch the videos for more.
